The Electricity (Amendment) Bill, 2021 is proposed to be put up during the current monsoon session of the parliament. It will enable entry of private distributors in every territory in competition with state electricity distribution companies (discoms). Discoms will be required to allow the use of their infrastructure to private distributors for competing with themselves!!
